Through the 2025 Pukpuk Treaty, Australia and Papua New Guinea are expanding and modernising our defence relationship. Through this commitment, Australia is establishing a recruitment pathway for Papua New Guinea citizens.
This agreement also provides opportunities to recruit and develop eligible Papua New Guinean citizens for service within the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

If you are currently serving in the PNG Defence Force, visit the Overseas Lateral Entry (OLE) page which is for skilled, experienced, foreign military personnel, both currently serving and recently retired to bring their knowledge and relevant service experience to serve within the ADF.
