Event Guidelines
ADF Careers are committed to providing Events and Information Sessions about a career with the ADF that is welcoming and safe for all participants, is free from unlawful discrimination and harassment, and where all participants are treated with dignity and respect.
We have a zero-tolerance approach towards any verbal or physical threats, harassment, bullying, abuse or violence at any virtual and face-to-face events. This includes but is not limited to:
- discrimination against or vilifying a person or section of the community on account of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, age, sexual preference, religion, disability, mental illness or political beliefs
- offensive language and gestures including profanity, obscenity, racial, religious or ethnic slurs
- sexual harassment including inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention whether verbal, physical or otherwise, in person or online
- threats, intimidating and threatening behaviour, whether verbal, physical or written
- deliberately damaging the venue or other people’s property
- assembling for the purpose of disturbing the peace or commencing an offence
We want everyone to be able to participate and fully engage in our events in comfort. Disrupting part, or all of any virtual or face-to-face event, whether physical or verbally, in a deliberate way goes against this. By attending our Events or Information Sessions, you agree you shall not deliberately prevent others from attending or participating in any portion of the Event or Information Session, or act in a way that endangers others, causes others to feel distressed and/or uncomfortable, or prevents them from acting safely.
Should any prohibited behaviour (as outlined above) be observed, anticipated, suspected or reported, ADF Careers may take any reasonable measures that we deem necessary to ensure the safety of others, and/or the maintenance of a professional environment. Such action may include but is not limited to refusal of entry to, immediate removal from an event, and a prohibition from attending future events at the sole discretion of ADF Careers. Harassment is unlawful under both federal and all Australian state anti-discrimination laws, and as such, people suspected of such misconduct (including any threats to safety) or any behaviour suspected of contravening any laws or regulations may also be reported to the relevant authorities.
