<div class="p" >On completion of IET, you will generally be based at HMAS Stirling&nbsp;on Garden Island, Western Australia less than an hours drive south of Perth.</div>
<div class="p" >Sailors can also serve in establishments HMAS&nbsp;Kuttabul&nbsp;and HMAS&nbsp;Watson in Sydney, HMAS Stirling in Western Australia and HMAS Cairns.</div>
Sea positions exist on both the eastern and western sea board, as well as Cairns.
As you progress into management, the positions available expand to include Darwin.

You will be paid while you train, and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Employment Training, you’ll earn at least:

In the Navy you'll get paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications; and your pay increases as you progress through training. In addition to your salary you'll receive a variety of allowances, extra pay for relevant qualifications – plus 16.4% superannuation, a far higher rate than you're likely to find in the civilian world.

General Entry: Non-Technical

Within the training framework, personnel in the Australian Defence Force must comply with Competency Based Training Assessment that certifies personnel progression through maintenance of a Capability Evidence Journal. Hospitality Services Assistants who successfully complete and are competitive for promotion may be selected to return to the ADF School of Catering for further training.
The Supervisors course (as a guide, this can be achieved approximately 4 years after category training) is provided for Able Seaman promoting to Leading Seaman. The training focuses on developing the following skills:
<ul>
 <li>Supervisory accounting, business and logistics practices</li>
 <li>Hygiene practices</li>
 <li>Event Management </li>
 <li>Supervision of people</li>
</ul>
Completion of Supervisors Course and Leading Seaman Promotion Course will satisfy eligibility for promotion to Leading Seamen Support Operations.
Advanced training through the Managers Course is provided for Leading Seaman promoting to Petty Officer (as a guide, this can be achieved approximately 8 years after category training). The training focuses on developing the following skills:

 <li>Accounting small Business (Advanced)</li>
 <li>Develop and Implement Operational Plans</li>
 <li>Canteen and Mess through Small Business Management training</li>
 <li>Manage Human Resources</li>
 <li>Contract Management </li>
 <li>Provide Quality Client Service</li>
</ul>
Successful completion of Managers Course and Petty Officers Promotion Course will satisfy eligibility for promotion to Petty Officer Support Operations.
Completion of the Chief Petty Officer Promotion Course will satisfy eligibility for promotion to Chief Petty Officer Support Operations (as a guide, promotion to Chief Petty Officer can be achieved approximately 12 years after category training).
Completion of the Warrant Officers Promotion Course will satisfy eligibility for promotion to Warrant Officer (as a guide, promotion to Warrant Officer can be achieved approximately 17 years after category training). Further training may be required though specified posting requirements.

Provide hospitality services and support operations onboard submarines.
Whether you have recently finished school, currently studying, already in the workforce or you have no experience at all, you'll be paid from day one. You'll gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job training. You may also be able to use your existing qualifications and be eligible for recognition of prior learning.
As a Hospitality Services Operator Submariner (known in the Navy as Maritime Logistic Support Operator Submariner), you will work in a team to provide quality hospitality services to the submarine's crew, serve VIPs, manage canteens, and serve at events and functions such as cocktail parties, formal dinners, and diplomatic functions. 
Your duties include, but aren&rsquo;t limited to:
<ul>
 <li>Food, bar and barista services</li>
 <li>Canteen attendant</li>
 <li>Cash handling</li>
 <li>Catering and waiting</li>
 <li>Table service</li>
 <li>Event coordination</li>
 <li>Cleaning and housekeeping duties</li>
 <li>Dining room setup</li>
 <li>Acting as attendant to the Commanding Officer</li>
</ul>
There are opportunities for progression with future job prospects including, working as a personal assistant to VIPs such as the Governor General and the Chief of Navy.
