<p>Airbase Protection and Security personnel will initially be posted to a Security Forces Squadron at RAAF Base Amberley (QLD), Williamtown (NSW) or Edinburgh (SA) but may be required to undertake employment at any other Air Force base within Australia.</p>

<p>Note: Part-time Airbase Protection and Security vacancies are currently restricted to applicants who reside within two hours surface travel of a Security Force Squadron Airbase Protection Flight located at Amberley (QLD), Williamtown (NSW) or Edinburgh (SA).</p>

You will be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

<p>Ensuring the security of airbases and the safety of people is a crucial part of the Air Force. In this rewarding part-time role, you&rsquo;ll assist with providing the Air Force with a secure and safe operating environment that&rsquo;s free of potential threats. </p>
<div class="p"><strong>What you&rsquo;ll do:</strong></div>
<p>As Airbase Protection and Security, the range of functions you&rsquo;ll perform will include:</p>
<ul>
    <li>Manning observation posts and security patrols on foot or in vehicles</li>
    <li>Controlling access to bases and/or restricted areas</li>
    <li>Handling a variety of weapons</li>
    <li>Reacting to security threats</li>
</ul>
<div class="p"><strong>Training and Career progression</strong></div>
<p>You&rsquo;ll receive comprehensive training as part of this role. This will include training in relation to all job functions you&rsquo;ll be required to perform, as well as in areas such as:</p>
<ul>
    <li>Effective conflict resolution and negotiation</li>
    <li> Understanding legal powers</li>
    <li>Self-defence</li>
</ul>
<p>We&rsquo;ll train you from the ground up, teaching you everything you need to excel in your career during your Initial Employment Training (IET), with ongoing training as you progress. Upon completion of your IET and a workplace journal, you will be transferred to the role of Air Force Security (AFSEC).</p>
