Receive nationally recognised trade training
Join the ADF and use your existing trade skills in a unique military environment.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those with a nationally recognised trade seeking to undertake hands-on tasks.

You'll be paid to train and on completion of your Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you’ll earn a tax-free daily rate of at least:

The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax.

As a part-time Fitter Armament in the Army Reserve, you’ll play a crucial role in repairing and maintaining the weapon systems and equipment that help protect Australia. You’ll get to apply your trade skills in unique environments, mixing up your regular job with work experiences you won’t find in civilian life. Best of all, you’ll get the satisfaction that comes from giving back to the community.

You'll receive paid on-the-job training, career progression opportunities and unrivalled benefits working both at sea and ashore.

Working with your local reserve unit or on exercises and operations, you’ll inspect, service, repair and maintain a wide variety of weapons including pistols, machine guns, mortars, shotguns and anti-armour weapons. You’ll also perform general engineering tasks, and repair and maintain assorted equipment. 

When you meet with your local unit, you’ll refine your technical skills, plan upcoming exercises and keep up your soldier training. On training exercises, you’ll play a valuable role supporting your team, whether that’s by providing technical expertise or by maintaining and repairing weapons or other specialist equipment.

Take on a rewarding, part-time role that draws on your capabilities as a qualified fitter, helping to keep Army hardware, vehicles and weapons in peak working condition.
