Earn a fully funded degree
Originating from a unique partnership between the ADF and the University of New South Wales (UNSW), ADFA offers world-class education plus cutting-edge military and leadership training at our Canberra campus. In addition to being expertly trained in the art of leadership and management, you'll undertake a degree in Arts, Business, Science, Engineering or Computing.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Those wanting a fully funded world-class degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). You&rsquo;ll earn a salary while you study and graduate HELP-debt-free.

Officer Entry: Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA)

You'll be paid while you study. On completion of your degree, Initial Military Training and Initial Employment Training, you'll earn at least:

In the Air Force you'll be paid a good salary from day one regardless of your age, experience or qualifications.

Officer Entry: ADFA

You&rsquo;ll receive considerable postgraduate training in security planning, protective security, and security risk management. If you're selected for employment as a Military Police Officer, you&rsquo;ll receive training in investigations and investigation management. If you're selected for ground combat roles, you&rsquo;ll undertake Advanced Range Qualifications, Tactics and Weapons courses.

Become an officer
You can choose to become an officer in the Navy, Army or Air Force via Direct Entry and have your training paid for while also getting paid. As long as you&rsquo;re a school leaver who has passed year 12, you can head straight into officer training with the ADF service of your choice.
Who it&rsquo;s for:&nbsp;Year 12 graduates or qualified professionals.

As a Security Forces Officer, you&rsquo;ll lead the Security Forces teams that protect Australia's airbases. You&rsquo;ll deploy rapid security responses, both across Australia and overseas, and provide advice and recommendations to commanders at all levels on security risk management and mitigation strategies.

This is a new role that has evolved from the merging of previously offered Air Force Security Police Officer and Ground Defence Officer roles. More information can be found below, or by contacting 13 19 01.

As a Security Forces Officer, you&rsquo;ll be responsible for commanding and leading up to 40 protective security specialists in a 'Security Flight'. In this role, you could be a close combat specialist, leading, training, coordinating and commanding members to establish and maintain a secure operating environment for the projection of air power. Or you could be a military policing specialist, leading and managing military law enforcement including the investigation of offences in the Joint Military Police Unit (JMPU).
