Join without qualifications
There are many excellent career options in the ADF that generally don&rsquo;t require experience or qualifications. You&rsquo;ll receive all the training you need and be paid while you train.

As an Information Systems Network Technician Nuclear Submariner, you will make a meaningful contribution to Navy history as you work towards deploying Australia&rsquo;s first conventionally armed nuclear-powered submarines. Your role is crucial across Navy operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the continued function of a diverse range of state-of-the-art systems, from local databases and area networks, to complex electronic, electro-mechanical and electronic warfare equipment.
Your position will give you the chance to interact with all sorts of advanced technology, from multi-media fibre optics, to tactical and commercial satellites on a global basis. You will operate, manage, and provide hardware and software support to a vast array of systems from microcomputers to Wide Area Networks, using your in-depth knowledge of electronic and operation system theory.

Within a fast-paced environment, you&rsquo;ll be given various responsibilities, ranging from conducting mission critical work in supporting operations, to performing network and systems administration, or coordinating data driven response activities and user support. You will receive continuous learning in cyber tools, network defence, signals analysis, and intelligence production, be trusted with strict requirements for handling classified information, and fit into a dynamic schedule afloat and ashore.
When ashore, your assignments include information warfare and intelligence commands. While on board the submarine, you&rsquo;ll get the opportunity to work in secure facilities and engage with intelligence and information warfare teams.
